Gather Around a Fire at Pipe & Thimble for Spooky Stories

Los Angeles, CA – The new bookstore that’s turning heads in Southern California for warmly embracing local, indie, and small press authors and books, as well as for their now-famous community events, The Pipe & Thimble invites you to Friday the 13th Scary Campfire Stories and Open Mic, October 13, 2017.

Joining forces with Black Château, the marketing and PR agency that specializes in promoting books and authors, the event features several headlining local authors. Plus, to give everyone a chance to participate, there is also an open mic. Anyone can sign up to read, tell a scary story, or recite a poem—guest readers simply need to sign up at the event. Open mic readings will be on a first-come basis; guest readers are encouraged to arrive on time to secure a spot.

Ellie Lieberman, co-proprietor of the Pipe & Thimble, says, “We love doing these regular community events. What better way to celebrate Friday the 13th and the spookiness of Halloween than sharing scary stories around the fire? Plus, because we’re living in an age where livestreaming can make our intimate event available to all, we’re beyond excited to invite everyone to join us!”

To make the event accessible to all, it will be livestreamed on The Pipe & Thimble’s Facebook and YouTube pages. People around the world are just a click away from watching and listening to the authors as they read.

Featured authors include:

Evangeline Duran Fuentes – author of Cry on Hallow’s Eve

Kate Jonez – author of Swamp Logic, Ceremony of Flies, and Candy House

John Palisano – author of All That Withers, Ghost Heart, Durst of the Dead and Nerves

Sean Patrick Traver – author of Red Witch the Chronicles of Ingrid Redstone, Graves End, and the upcoming Wraith Ladies Who Lunch

Robert Payne Cabeen – author of Cold Cuts
