Black Château Partners with BCX and Digital Author for October West Coast Writers Conferences

Los Angeles, CA – Black Château Enterprises partners with the BCX and Digital Author conferences in October. The company is proud to be a sponsor of the dual conference which is presented annually by West Coast Writers Conference (WC2). They happen consecutively, October 12 – 14th 2018 at Los Angeles Valley College in Van Nuys, California.

On Saturday, October 13th at 3:45pm, Black Château presents the Are You Crazy, or Just Creative panel. Designed to address the stress and emotional anxiety many creatives face, it features an array of professionals in what promises to be an interactive and lively discussion. From the stress of meeting publisher deadlines to anxiety in public situations that many creatives feel, the conversation explores how people can develop strategies to cope and put them in the right headspace. Plus, the panel will discuss how writers can use personal experiences to develop characters and scenes that are vivid and real.

Panelists:

  • Jenna Busch: writer, journalist, Editor-in-Chief of Legion of Leia, podcast host, co-hosted Cocktails with Stan with Stan Lee
  • Laurie Finkelstein: author of Next Therapist Please, visual artist, and champion for mental health awareness

  • Robert Yehling: award-winning author, editor, educator and publishing consultant
  • (M) Anastasia Washington: host of Legion of Leia, Nerd Up or Shut Up podcasts, actress, writer, producer, director, and curvy-positive model

 

Black Château also presents the Listen Up! Your Book Wants to Be Heard discussion. Taking place Saturday October 13th at 11:15am, it is a conversation with Phil Giangrande and Mark J. Rose. The experts discuss being a narrator for one’s audio book, the steps in producing an audio book, and how authors can prepare for the process.

Featuring:

  • Phil Giangrande: host of Seated at the Writer’s Table, screenwriter, and radio producer
  • Mark J. Rose: scientist, screenwriter and author of The Matt Miller in the Colonies series

 

Other notable discussions, and speakers include Dr. Raye Mitchell who will speak on the Business of Writing and Things I Wish a Pro Told Me panels; Black Château founder Desireé Duffy will speak on the Planning Your Book Launch Release Party panel; and Lori H. Schwartz who will deliver the Sunday keynote speech titled: The Impact and Opportunities of Technology for Storytellers.
